WaterFALL

An international exchange project focusing on climate change through water.

Janice Perry (USA), Yoko Ishiguro (Japan) and Caroline Wright (England) have been collaborating on the international project waterFALL between summer 2009 and autumn 2010. Each artist has led a particular element of the project interpreting their own understanding of climate change in their local environment. Ishiguro requested her fellow collaborators to make work using a glass of water, Perry invited people across the world to drink water from the sky in one simultaneous international action and Wright led the project Residue, a physical exchange of distilled sea salt that was rehydrated around the three countries.
The project will be submitted to the Transcultural Exchange in America in Autumn 2010. Documentation of Wright’s work within the project will be shown at The Late Shift, Sainsbury Centre for Visual Art – programmed in connection with Invisible Dust, a project addressing climate change curated by Alice Sharp.
