Created by taking depth soundings from the coast around Brightlingsea, Soundings transforms the depth readings plotted onto a fathom depth chart into a rich musical composition. With lyrics borrowed from literature, folklore and local sea shanties, this strange symphony combines live and recorded sound and is performed by a cast of singers, musicians and local people. Music composed by Caroline Wright and John Hutchings. Soundings was made with the support of Brightlingsea Harbour Master.
