Beached

Objects gleaned from the beaches along the Suffolk coast form the material for Remains, a series of works depicting flotsam and jetsam that has washed ashore. Subject to longshore drift, the eroding Suffolk coastline is claiming the homes and buildings of villages close to the water's edge, pulling them into the sea and depositing remnants further along the coast. The drawing is a re-positioning of barely recognisable construction or domestic materials, with all their tale marks and forms that indicate their past.
