She cares deeply about others, as evidenced in her mission to support and enable artists in any situation. She is interested in many ways of working - painting, drawing, craft pursuits, but equally happy creating hand drawn animations, projections (as creative director for a music video), neon text pieces and video works. Despite - or perhaps because of - her use of a wide range of media, and her enquiring approach, her work has led her down many and varied paths that are research-led. Strongly influenced by living near the coast, much of Caroline’s work embodies the sea and the entangled position of bodies and environment in a post-human world. Her practice is informed by her work as an academic, where the exchange of knowledge and sense of enquiry transfers from art making to pedagogy and back again. This forms the basis for her approach to teaching and mentoring, where practice led research levels the learning experience.
